Description

Explore, learn, and grow with Wild Things Academy! Now enrolling K and 1st grade students for the 2024-25 school year. 

What is Wild Things Academy? We are a 100% outdoor program, based at Camp Wright on Kent Island. In our outdoor classroom and beyond, we cover reading, writing, math, nature exploration, art, and physical education.  Nature inspires us and provides ample opportunities for fun, hands-on learning. Take home materials are provided for parents to cover additional content areas at home.  We meet Mondays and Fridays from 10-3pm.  Read on for more information and reach out to schedule a tour!


Schedule

2024-25 School Year

  • Mondays and Fridays: 10-3pm

  • Option to join Tuesday and Thursday homeschool programs at a discounted rate

  • Calendar follows QACPS for days off and holidays, with a few additional days off

  • First day Sept 9, last day May 16. 30 weeks of curriculum

Additional content areas covered in take-home materials

Parents will be provided with materials or suggestions to cover these content areas at home: Recommended 3-5 hours of study at home per week

  • STEM

  • Social Studies

  • Language

  • Music

  • Technology

 

Portfolio will be created to fulfill QACPS homeschooling requirements. Guidance provided for parents to complete additional requirements.
